Letter to our community

To my Camp Friends and Family,

I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy.

This past year has proven to be heavy on the heart. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Girl Scout Community who persevered during such tough times.

Planning for summer 2021 has been a challenge due to COVID-19 and the high health risk involved of gathering and living together. We have created a plan to host summer camp based upon the advice from public health experts, the Department of Health & Human Services, American Camp Association, and consultation with GSUSA and other camp organizations and partnerships.

With this said, camping at Tomahawk Ranch will look different this summer. Decreased camper capacities, extended session lengths, social distancing, use of face coverings, increased frequent hand washing, consistent sanitation and disinfection, staggered dining, programmatic restrictions, drive up/limited contact check-in and check-out processes will be part of the routine this summer.

Rest assured, we are more so than ever committed to making this summer just as fun, engaging and magical for all who experience a camping adventure at Tomahawk Ranch. In these uncertain times, it is important to remember what camp is about -- the friendships, connections with each other, nature and animals, and the self-growth and awareness we all experience.

We are so looking forward to you all 'coming back to the mountains’ to help us ‘turn the world around.'

In future’s time, I look to welcome you all back to Tomahawk Ranch and her skies of blue!

From around the campfire,

Obi Joe,

Camp Director, Tomahawk Ranch
